As by request from our SDP-comrades here in Zenica, we will now write on this blog in English!
However, I will have to disappoint you a bit since this nights post will be rather short. You see, Ferid snored tonight which kept me awake until very late resulting in me being crazily tired now.
We took the bus to Zenica this morning (resulting in a rather hilarious videoclip, I might add) to meet up with the local SDP Youth section. Together we discussed some of the issues of Bosnia and SDP in general while also reflecting about problems in Sweden and SSU. It was a positive experience with many interesting facts and opinions. We will be keeping in touch with them from now on.
They guided us on a tour of the local ABF-project that is being run and funded by ABF Luleă. As they informed us it is a really successful project that has been going on for the past twelve years and now educates around 1000 people (!) every year in a variety of subjects, from sewing to English and IT. It feels inspiring to see such development in a country so troubled as Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Beyond that we are very positively surprised about SDP's firm policy of being multi ethnic. We see a lot to be gained by exchanging experiences with the politically active social democrats here in Bosnia.
After ending the day with SDP Youth, we went on to stay at the household of Ferids family here in Zenica. They've been taking good care of us and we've been well fed with grilled food. Now only some last work within the group remains for today before we can enjoy the comfort of warm beds and well earned sleep. Tomorrow we leave for Banja Luka!
Ciao!
